Turkey prices on the rise

You can expect that the festive fare on your Christmas table will cost more this year, as turkey prices are expected to rise by as much as 25 percent in advance of December 25th.  Higher feed and fuel prices are partly to blame for the price hike. Farmers noted that the price of poultry feed effectively doubled in autumn from €100 per tonne to €210 per tonne in September. The retail price of organic turkeys is also expected to rise by 12 to 15 percent.
