Oran power to second senior title in three years

Oran 2-5 Athleague 0-2

Oran claimed their second Roscommon senior club camogie title in three years with a dominant victory over Athleague in very difficult weather conditions at Lisnamult on Saturday.

A gale-force, icy wind and squally rain showers made life difficult for both sides, but Oran adapted best. Playing against the elements in the opening half, they defended superbly to take a 0-3 to 0-1 lead into the break.

Oran pulled away in the second half, with player of the match Andrea Fallon flicking home a goal in the 42nd minute. A long-range free from Orla Connolly went all the way to the net in the final minute to seal a comfortable victory for Colm Kelly’s side.

In the earlier ‘B’ final, Four Roads defeated St Dominic’s by 1-7 to 0-5, with Celine Gacquin scoring the decisive goal in the 47th minute
