Solicitors have been reminded that specified first-registration and adverse-possession applications from all 26 counties must be lodged with Tailte Éireann’s Roscommon office.
The arrangements have been in place since April 13, following the establishment of a dedicated First Registration and Section 49 Validation Unit.
A reminder published by the Law Society on October 20 confirms that the relevant applications must be directed to the Roscommon unit.
Tailte Éireann says applications can be lodged in person or by post at its Golf Links Road office.
The unit checks applications against the requirements for lodgement before they proceed for processing.
In separate guidance published this month, Tailte Éireann reported that 60% of first-registration applications lodged nationally during 2026 up to the end of August failed validation requirements and were returned.
Applications containing avoidable errors are closed and must be resubmitted, with their processing priority then based on the new lodgement date.
The agency has urged practitioners to use the relevant guides and checklists when preparing applications.
