Roscommon competitors returned from Belfast with an impressive haul of honours following Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2026.
Among the county’s successes was Vincent Pierse of CCÉ Baile Ros Comáin, who was crowned All-Ireland champion in the over-18 storytelling competition, while Henry Gunn of Elphin CCÉ took the All-Ireland title in the 12–15 storytelling category.
There was further success for Elphin, with Celine Shannon finishing second in senior lilting. Elphin Set Dancers also enjoyed a memorable weekend, taking second place in the U18 Mixed Half Set and third place in the 12–15 Mixed Full Set.

Diarmuid Pléimeann of CCÉ Baile Ros Comáin also secured a podium finish, taking third place in the 15–18 storytelling competition.
Roscommon musicians, singers, dancers and storytellers were among more than 5,000 competitors who travelled from around the world to take part in the All-Ireland competitions during the week-long celebration of Irish traditional music, song and dance.
It was the first time Belfast had hosted Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, with competitions, concerts, céilithe, sessions and cultural events taking place throughout the city.
Belfast City Council said city-centre footfall reached more than 1.65 million between August 2nd and 9th, almost double the figure recorded during the corresponding week in 2025.
