Mundy to perform at The Dock

Irish singer-songwriter Mundy will perform at The Dock in Carrick-on-Shannon on Saturday, September 5th.

Born Edmond Enright in Birr, Co. Offaly, Mundy moved to Dublin at the age of 18 and became part of the city’s busking scene. During that period, he wrote a number of songs that would feature in his early career, including Gin & Tonic Sky and Life’s A Cinch.

He later signed with Epic Records and Warner Chappell Music, and released his debut album Jelly Legs in 1996. International attention followed with To You I Bestow, which featured on the soundtrack to Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet.

Over the course of his career, Mundy has shared stages with artists including Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Emmylou Harris, R.E.M., Oasis, The White Stripes and The Pogues. He has also performed at the White House as part of St Patrick’s Day celebrations.

Mundy has released a series of albums through his independent label Camcor Records, founded in 2000. His album Raining Down Arrows reached number one in the Irish charts.

He also won the 2009 Meteor Music Award for Most Downloaded Song for his version of Galway Girl with Sharon Shannon.
