Late goal gifts Tulsk U-20 title
Liam Cribbin was the Tulsk hero as his last-gasp goal handed Tulsk a 2-11 to 1-10 victory over Castlerea St. Kevin’s in last Saturday’s Dermot Hughes U-20 Division Two Final played in poor weather conditions at Enfield. An early goal from Jonathan Hester saw Castlerea take the early initiative but Tulsk were back in business by the end of the first quarter helped by a fine Daniel Connolly goal.
Castlerea scored three on the bounce to put them back into the lead and by half-time they led by two, 1-7 to 1-5. But Tulsk were on fire on the resumption and four quick points saw them in front. Castlerea battled back well and points from Aaron McDermott and Colm McDermott saw them level the scores with 10 minutes to play.
However, points from David Coyne and Callum Fahey saw Tulsk edge ahead and then in injury-time Cribben fisted home the decisive goal and Castlerea could only manage a consolation point in reply.
