Roscommon County Council is inviting submissions from artists and artist teams for two major public art commissions in Monksland and Ballaghaderreen.
The first will see a permanent artwork, or series of artworks, created for Clúain na Coillte, a new 51-home social housing development in Monksland. The commission has a budget of €112,500, with artists invited to respond to themes including landscape, nature, woodland heritage, community and the changing character of Monksland.
A second commission at Shannon Valley, Ballaghaderreen, carries a budget of €40,500 and will combine an artist residency with the creation of a permanent public artwork. The project is being delivered in partnership with Creative Places Ballaghaderreen, with €15,000 allocated to the residency programme.
Artists may apply for either or both commissions. The closing date for submissions is 4 pm on Monday, September 7th.
