A total of 170 previously vacant and derelict properties in County Roscommon have been restored to residential use through the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant, according to the Department of Housing.
The completed projects have received more than €10 million in grant funding.
Figures published for the third quarter of 2026 show that 584 applications have been received in Roscommon since the scheme began in 2022, with 423 approvals granted.
The figures distinguish between applications approved and properties brought back into use, with the latter standing at 170.
Housing Minister James Browne said the scheme was helping to provide homes while addressing vacancy and dereliction in communities.
He said the restored properties represented accommodation for families, homebuyers and renters in buildings that might otherwise have remained vacant.
Nationally, the Department reports that 7,162 vacant and derelict properties have been returned to use through the scheme, supported by more than €396 million in grant funding.
