Solas Art Gallery in Ballinamore is staging solo exhibitions by two local artists, showcasing digital culture and the seascape environment.

Painting of Markee Castle by artist Damien O’Rourke.

This joint solo exhibition series brings together two distinctive, artistic voices uniting across contrasting mediums; the immersive realm of digital artistry by Damien O’Rourke and expressive language of abstract seascape painting by Tony Lock.

Damien’s exhibition is titled ‘Reflections’ and explores a process of giving form to feelings from a rich variety of landscapes, cities, animal and movement in motion subjects.

Amidst hidden meanings and deeper values, Damien’s explosion of colours and contrasts are designed to guide the viewer’s perspective, where others leave interpretation entirely open.

‘Fire in the Sky’ by artist Tony Lock.

This unifying concept of exploring colour and contrasts leads us beautifully to the large-scaled acrylic paintings by Tony Lock.

Inspired by more than 20 years and 60,000

nautical miles in a small yacht across some of the world’s most distinct waters, Tony

unapologetically navigates texture, colour and elements of abstraction for his show titled ‘Wish You Were Here’.

The show will be officially opened by Maura McDonnell. Maura is an artist from Drumreilly, County Leitrim, now based in Maynooth.

‘She of the Mountain’ by artist Damien O’Rourke.
