An investigation is currently underway into the death of a 20 year old inmate at Castlerea Prison.
The prisoner, who was originally from Co Donegal, was found dead at the prison early Thursday morning.
A spokesperson for the Irish Prison Services said: “This death in custody will be investigated by the Irish Prison Service, The Inspector of Prisons and An Garda Síochána, where circumstances warrant.
The Irish Prison Service said that the man’s family have been informed.
