Roscommon Arts Centre has teamed up with the Model and Niland Centre in Sligo to present a selection of work from the Niland Collection by John B Yeats, father of poet William Butler Yeats. The exhibition will feature portraits, mostly executed in pencil, of many important figures from literary and political circles from early 20th century Irish life. The show is the second in Roscommon Arts Centre’s 2007 visual art programme as selected by curator Patrick Murphy and is the first of two co-programming shows planned for this year which are designed to present work from major public collections in Roscommon. The show will open this Saturday afternoon at 3 pm in the gallery space and all are welcome to come along to the opening reception and enjoy a stroll around the exhibition and a glass of wine. The exhibition continues until Saturday April 21st during the centre opening hours and entrance to the gallery space is free of charge. Further information contact the box office on (090) 66 25 824.
