Workshops for farm building contractors

Farmers now have less than a year to complete the large volume of farm buildings works grant approved under the Farm Waste Management Scheme. This represents very substantial on-farm investment as farmers put in place facilities to conform with the nitrates regulations and cross compliance requirements. A series of information workshops now underway will give farm building contractors and building material suppliers the answers to key questions. A panel of expert speakers will provide the answers on issues relating to farm building grants, specifications, design, materials quality and construction safety. The workshops are organised by the Irish Farm Building Contractors Association and the Irish Concrete Federation in association with Teagasc, the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and the Irish Farm Buildings Association. All workshops run from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm and an entrance charge of €30 applies. The remaining workshops are as follows: Monday, 4th February 2008 Munster Arms Hotel, Bandon, Co. Cork; Tuesday, 5 February 2008 Castletroy Park Hotel, Limerick.
