Works ongoing to repair burst water main in Knockcroghery

Crews are working to restore water to the Knockcroghery area this afternoon following reports of a burst water main in the area.

Staff from Irish Water and Roscommon County Council are currently on site in a bid to restore service to the Knockcroghery Water Supply Scheme which affects customers in Lecarrow, St. John’s, Corrigeen and surrounding areas.

Repairs are expected to be complete by 4 pm, and typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.

Ger Greally, Regional Operations Lead with Irish Water, thanked customers for their understanding while works continue this afternoon.

“We understand the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers and we appreciate their patience. The repairs in the Knockcroghery area are being conducted as quickly as possible to minimise disruption to the community and restore water for all customers,” he said.
