Work on junction

Roscommon County Council is to spend €70,000 improving the T junction at Cartron, Kilteevan, a fact welcomed this week by Cllr. Paula McNamara. Cllr. McNamara (below) said that the decision followed representations from her on the matter. ‘When work is completed on this junction it should remove all the large lorries from The Walk Road area. Those large lorries are travelling to and from the recycling centre at Roxboro. The Walk is a residential area with a couple of hundred people living there. It is very dangerous to have those large lorries using it as an access route to industrial sites in Roxboro.    ‘It was a condition laid down by An Bord Pleanála that lorries would not use the Walk Road. I hope and expect that when the work is completed that no large lorries will come into the area. I want to thank Roscommon County Council’.
