On Sunday, August 28th, the Williamstown Heritage Society is holding an open day at Templetogher, Williamstown, Co. Galway, F45PH32, during which a Memorial Wildlife Garden in memory of deceased members will be officially opened.
The event runs from 12 noon to 4pm and the programme for the day is as follows:
2.30pm – Traditional Music Session
2.45pm – Unveiling of the new display unit
3pm – Unveiling of the Plaque to Special People
3.15pm – Marking of 200th anniversary of Templetogher Mill
3.30pm – Official Opening of the Memorial Wildlife Garden – followed of blessing of the garden by parish priest Fr. Eugene O’Boyle.
Throughout the afternoon there will also be a number of exhibitions on show, with the new display unit housing numerous artefacts and memorabilia of bygone days.
A selection of Heritage photographs will also be shown on screen and the Miller’s Cottage will be open with the mill wheel turning to be able to relive a special feature of the past.
Car parking and refreshments will also be available during the afternoon.
