Western Alzheimer’s Coffee Morning raised over €3,000

Lisa O’Rourke to start St Stephen’s Day Walk!

Western Alzheimer’s Voluntary Committee are delighted to report that they had a very successful coffee morning on Friday, the 25th of November, at Roscommon Golf Club.

It was wonderful to see old and indeed new friends supporting such a worthy cause after a two-year break due to the pandemic. The committee would like to sincerely thank all who attended and donated and purchased items on the day. We are particularly grateful to Roscommon-based artist Ian Marks, who donated some wonderful paintings, the proceeds of which all went in support of Western Alzheimer’s.

The coffee morning raised in excess of €3,000, all of which will go towards supporting the continuing provision of services in Roscommon.

With Christmas almost upon us, the committee is encouraging as many people as possible to attend the annual St Stephen’s Day Charity Walk. The walk will begin at 12 noon on the 26th of December, departing from Hannon’s Hotel. Entry is €10 per person or €20 per family, and the committee is delighted to announce that world champion boxer Lisa O’Rourke will cut the ribbon to start the walk.

This would be an excellent way to work off the Christmas turkey, or indeed the nut roast, all while supporting an extremely worthy charity. See you there!
