Roscommon County Council has said the local authority is “absolutely determined” to re-open Castlerea Fire Station at the earliest possible opportunity. In a statement, the Council said that the decision to re-open the Fire Station will be made when the Council is satisfied that the nine part-time retained fire-fighters employed there can “work safely together.”
The Council said it is actively working to ensure that this essential part of the delivery of the Fire Services is in place before re-opening the Station.
“In the meantime Roscommon County Council can assure members of the public that the area of Castlerea will continue to be provided with an efficient emergency Fire Service and this service is ready to deal with any emergencies that may arise.”
