Ward to succeed Kilduff as Cathaoirleach

Independent councillor Tony Ward will be elected as the Cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council next Monday, June 27th. Cllr. Ward will succeed Cllr. Paddy Kilduff, of Fianna Fáil. The role carries an annual allowance of €20,000.

  Cllr. Nigel Dineen, an Independent, will succeed Cllr. Paschal Fitzmaurice, of Fianna Fáil, as the Leas-Cathaoirleach.

  The agreement is part of an alliance between the eight Fianna Fáil councillors and three Independents – Cllrs. Ward, Dineen and Kathleen Shanagher – that sees them control the Council Chamber.
