Venue switch: Hyde Committee ‘not consulted’

The Hyde Park Committee wish it to be known that no member of their committee was present when the Hyde Park pitch was inspected last Saturday – eight days before the National Football League game against Meath.   The Committee points out that the decision to move the game to Kiltoom was made without prior knowledge of the committee, none of whom were consulted on the matter.    Members of the committee inspected the pitch on Sunday last and were of the opinion that with the good weather forecast for this week the pitch would have been playable for the game against Meath.    Having made those comments the Committee would like to wish the St. Brigids club the best of luck staging the fixture on Sunday next.
