Nineteen participants on a FÁS CE scheme are this week coming to terms with the sudden cessation of their involvement in a scheme in the Ballaghaderreen area. The Roscommon People understands that the nineteen individuals were employed through the scheme up to last Friday but that the scheme had ceased to operate from Monday morning. The unexpected turn of events has caused some consternation in the Ballaghaderreen area but hopes are high that new sponsors will be able to ‘resurrect’ the scheme. A FÁS spokesperson told the Roscommon People on Wednesday: ‘FÁS funded that project through sponsors in Ballaghaderreen and it’s their decision when they will run it.’
