Two men have been arrested by Gardaí investigating the serious assault of a 20-year-old man in Roscommon Town on the 30th of August last.
A man in his 40s was arrested in Ballinasloe by investigating Gardaí on Tuesday morning (26th) while a second man, also in his 40s, was arrested yesterday morning (27th) in Athlone. Both men are currently detained for questioning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Roscommon Garda Station.
The injured man is continuing to recover from his injuries.
Investigating Gardaí are continuing to appeal for information. They are particularly appealing to anyone who was in the Castle Street area between 10.30 pm and 11.30 pm on the night in question to come forward.
