Town Team to launch Strokestown.ie

Strokestown Town Team will launch its new website www.Strokestown.ie on Friday, September 8th at 5 pm. The website has been designed in order to promote the town.

Town Team Secretary Emmett Corcoran has said the website will enable the town to attract more tourists, businesses and hopefully new residents.

“Our goal is to make the website the one-stop shop for information about the town. Whether you want to visit Strokestown or surrounding areas to relax, invest in a new business or learn about the area’s rich history, Strokestown.ie will be a portal to all the resources you need to come and experience real Ireland,” he said.

The website, which will be used to market the area, will include a news and updates section, business and community directory as well as features and profiles of people and businesses who have recently moved to the town.

Mark Chilvers became a member of the website working group having recently moved to the area.

“I moved here from the UK in March and found it hard to get information on the what was happening in the area. When I saw that there was a website being developed I decided I’d like to get involved. It’s been a great experience working with the Town Team on this project. Strokestown has so much to offer and this new website will really help package what’s on offer,” he said.

Local TD Eugene Murphy said the website is another boost for the area.

“Strokestown is doing really well. There are great people doing great things very often in a voluntary capacity. The launch of a website for the town represents real progress for Strokestown and will be a valuable tool for the businesses and groups in the town.”

The launch of the new website is coinciding with Strokestown Agricultural and Industrial Show.

Any businesses or groups who wish to be listed on the new website, or anyone who has interesting facts, stories or history about the town are asked to forward information to emmett@corcoranwebdesign.com by September 6th for inclusion on the initial deployment of the website.
