Lawton concert The recently cancelled concert by Liam Lawton will now take place in Donamon Castle Church on Friday 16th May. Tickets purchased for the original concert are valid. Tickets are also still available and may be purchased/reserved by calling Divine Word Missionaries at (090) 66 62222.  Concert starts at 8 pm. Proceeds in aid of the Divine Word Missionaries. Table quiz Goff Street/Athlone Road Residents’ and Business Association will hold a Table Quiz on Thursday 22nd May in Larry’s Pub, Goff Street. The occasion will include a ‘Monster Raffle’ and ‘Auction of Valuables’. All are welcome. SNA information night Mountbellew Vocational School will hold and Information Evening on Post-Leaving Certificate Courses on Monday 12th May at 8 pm and all interested in working in the following are encouraged to attend: Special Needs or Classroom Assistant, Nurse’s Aid: Care Assistant for the Elderly, Office Assistant. Cancer unit The Marie Keating Mobile Cancer Information and Awareness Unit will be in Roscommon at Tesco on Wednesday, 21st May from 10.30 am to 4 pm. This service is free. Men and women are welcome to come and speak to the Nurse and take a free information pack. Garden club outing The annual outing of Roscommon Garden Club will be on Saturday 17th May to Sheila and Paul O’Brien’s Gardens, Williamstown, Carbury, Co. Communion Next Saturday, 17th May, pupils from the Abbey NS and Scoil Mhuire will make their First Holy Communion at 11 am in the Sacred Heart Church. Please keep them and their families in your prayers during the week. Please note Mass on Saturday next 17th May will be celebrated at 10 am instead of the usual 10:30 am to facilitate the First Holy Communicants. Padre Pio Mass A St. Padre Pio Mass will be concelebrated on Tuesday 20th May at 8 pm in the Parish Church, Strokestown. Chief Celebrant Rev. Fr. Angelus O’Neill OFM, Capuchin Friary, Dublin. Fr. Angelus will give an individual blessing with the St. Pio Mitten. He will be available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation from 6.30 prior to Mass. Fr. Angelus will take all petitions from this Mass to San Giovanni Rotondo. (The 40th Anniversary of St. Pio’s death will be celebrated on the 23rd September).
