SPAR Express at Corrib Oil Castlerea won a national award last Friday evening.
The Castlerea-based shop picked up a National Q Mark Award, which is the highest accolade a business in Ireland can achieve.
These awards are given only to companies who reach peak standards of quality and excellence and they have previously been described as the Oscars for business excellence.
At a gala ceremony in Dublin’s Clayton Hotel, the outlet was announced as a joint winner of the Q Mark for Pursuit of Excellence (Forecourts).
Corrib Oil, which is 100% Irish owned, has been in business for over 30 years. The company was founded in Claremorris, Mayo, in 1987.
Irene Collins, Managing Director of Excellence Ireland Quality Association (EIQA) said: “High operational standards and customer satisfaction are among the top priorities for this team. Winning a much-coveted Q Mark award in this hotly-contested category is a fantastic result. Congratulations to everyone involved”.
The winners of this year’s awards were selected from a list of more than 110 nominees, which was carefully scrutinised by a team of 14 judges from the worlds of enterprise, food safety, academia and more.
