‘Too much secrecy around Rosalie closure’

Sinn Féin spokesperson for Roscommon Claire Kerrane has said that there is far too much “secrecy” around the closure of the Rosalie Home in Castlerea.

Ms. Kerrane said: “I, along with my colleague and Sinn Féin spokesperson for Health Louise O’Reilly TD, met the families with loved ones living in the Rosalie Home over the Easter weekend. There is nothing about the closure of the Rosalie Home that makes sense and the HSE along with the Government have serious questions to answer.

“The report which apparently recommends the removal of all residents from the Rosalie Home remains hidden from the families. This is totally bizarre and unacceptable. It tells us that the HSE and the Government have something to hide.

“The secrecy around this report is alarming to the families whose loved ones call the Rosalie home and they are as determined as ever to fight on behalf of their loved ones”.

Ms. Kerrane concluded: “This injustice will not be tolerated. We will continue to ask questions into what is really behind the decision made to close the Rosalie Home”.
