Three sent off in stormy clash

There was a stormy O’Rourke Cup game between Kilbide and Elphin last Saturday night in Elphin. Three players were sent off, two from Elphin and one from Kilbride.    Kilbride player Stepehen Lohan was taken to hospital after he sustained a serious facial injury during the course of the game. The Roscommon People understands that  he is recovering from an eye injury and is expected to be able to play again very shortly. Roscommon county player Seamus O’Neill also sustained a facial injury but  it was not as serious as first thought and he played against Kildare in an inter-county challenge game last weekend.
