This weekend’s SHC preview

In this weekend’s senior hurling championship, St Dominic’s play Oran on Saturday evening at 5 pm in what looks an evenly matched contest while Four Roads will be the strong fancy to score another big win when they take on Roscommon Gaels in the later game at 7 pm. Both games are to be played in Athleague.

Last weekend, Athleague and Four Roads showed again why they are the teams to beat in this year’s Kepak Roscommon Senior Hurling Championship.

Athleague scored a resounding 6-16 to 2-10 win against Pádraig Pearses while Four Roads racked up a total of 4-22 when defeating Tremane (1-13).

Athleague led by five points at the break put they pulled away in a very one-sided second half. Robbie Fallon was the Athleague hero, scoring four goals.

In the second game, Four Roads continued their outstanding form with another big win, this time against Tremane. The championship favourites led by 2-9 to 1-8 at half time, and they stretched away in the second period to win in the end by 18 points.
