There are three more ties in the Kepak SHC this weekend. Two teams who need a win will meet in Knockcroghery on Saturday at 7 pm where St Dominic’s entertain Oran.
If Oran were to lose they would be in danger of being eliminated from the championship, which would be unprecedented for the club at this stage of the competition.
Oran were well beaten by Tremane in the last round. Subsequently, Tremane drew with St Dominic’s. Oran will have to up the ante if they are to win. If St Dominic’s are on top form they should prevail by a few points.
Roscommon Gaels will host Four Roads in Lisnamult on Sunday at 1.30 pm. This is a game that the town side must win. Having beaten Athleague, the Gaels were brought back down to earth by Pádraig Pearses in the last round.
Four Roads have not been very impressive thus far although they got back on the winning trail against Athleague in the last round. They will be targeting a win in this encounter to secure a place in the semi-finals. It could be a close-run affair but Four Roads look to have the firepower to progress.
Pádraig Pearses play Athleague in Lisnamult at 3.15 pm on Sunday. This is another vital match as Athleague could be in the elimination battle if they fail to win here. Pearses have been inconsistent so far but looked very good against Roscommon Gaels. It will be close, but Pearses might just have too much for Athleague and they get the nod to win.
