O’Rourke Cup (all games at 2.30 pm on Sunday) Note: Due to the approaching U-21 final, some of these fixtures may be postponed. St. Faithleachs v Elphin St. Faithleachs had a good win against St. Barrys and they have plenty of good players. Elphin will be hoping for better luck in this round and this will be a close game. However home advantage should swing it. Prediction: St. Faithleachs. Kilmore v Castlerea Castlerea had a great win over St. Brigids in the last round and they put up a huge score in doing so. They are shaping up well and they may be too strong for a Kilmore side that are hard to beat at home. Prediction: Castlerea. Roscommon Gaels v Padraig Pearses The Gaels have only just appointed their new team manager (Mickey Menton) so they may be a bit behind the rest in terms of training, etc. Pearses will be hard to beat if they have a full muster. Prediction: Padraig Pearses. Strokestown v St. Brigids This will bring back memories of that brilliant game between the two sides in the championship last year. If Brigids can get some of their stronger players out, they will be very hard to beat – even in Strokestown. Prediction: St. Brigids. Kilbride v St. Aidans This has all the hallmarks of a possible draw although home advantage will probably shade it for Kilbride. Prediction: Kilbride. Western Gaels v St. Barrys I am a big admirer of this young talented Western Gaels team which I expect will be strong in the championship later this summer. They should be too good for St. Barrys here. Prediction: Western Gaels. O’Gara Cup(Saturday at 5.30pm) Eire Og v St Michaels Looks like a tight game. Home advantage to shade it – just. Prediction: Eire Og. St. Croans v St. Brigids The home side should be too strong for St. Brigids’ second string. Prediction: St. Croans. Clann na nGael B v Creggs Creggs look like they mean business this year. This will be tight though. Prediction: Creggs. (Sunday at 2.30pm) St. Ronans v Clann na nGael ‘A’ Ronan’s had a great win over Michael Glaveys in the last round and they will be confident of going on a run now. Prediction: St. Ronans. Shannon Gaels v Michael Glaveys Glaveys will be hoping that they can get back on the winning trail here but they may have to wait for another day. Prediction: Shannon Gaels. Tulsk v St. Dominics A contender for the game of the day. There will not be much in this encounter. Prediction: St. Dominics. – Seamus Duke
