Third time lucky for Dom’s?

The Mulryan Construction-sponsored Intermediate Football Championship is always difficult to call…but could this finally be the year St. Dominic’s bring home the Jamesie Murray Cup?

IFC preview

Group A: St Croan’s, Creggs, Kilmore, Fuerty

A definite ‘Group of death’ here. Croan’s will be looking to bounce back after their relegation from the senior ranks, Fuerty are there or thereabouts as possible champions, and Creggs are on an upward curve. Kilmore should never be written off but they could struggle this time around.

To qualify: St Croan’s, Creggs, Fuerty

Group B: St Dominic’s, Shannon Gaels, St Brigid’s, St Aidan’s

St. Dominic’s will be hoping to make it third time lucky this year and are the deserved championship favourites. The derby game between St. Brigid’s and St. Aidan’s this weekend will tell us a lot about how the rest of the group shakes out.

To qualify: St Dominic’s, St Aidan’s, Shannon Gaels

Group C: Castlerea St Kevin’s, Kilbride, Éire Óg, Clann na nGael

Another very interesting group here. Castlerea could be a dark horse while Éire Óg have been going well in the early part of the season. It looks like Clann and Kilbride may have to fight it out to qualify.

To qualify: Castlerea St Kevin’s, Éire Óg, Kilbride
