Third threat to Donamon woman under investigation

A woman from the Donamon area of Co.   Roscommon who was the victim of two attacks in her home early December was threatened earlier this week while she was driving to work.    The married woman from the local area was driving to work on Monday morning when a white van pulled across in front of her about a mile from her home and forced her to stop her car.    The man in the van is reported to have threatened the woman before getting back into the van and driving away. It is the third time that the lady in question had been threatened inside the past month or so.    Early in December the woman was confronted by a man in her home while she was alone and then three days later the woman was physically attacked by a man who had gained entry into her home. She received minor injuries on that occasion.   Gardai in Roscommon town have issued an appeal for information in connection with this latest incident.    Speaking to The People on Wednesday a Garda spokesman said that Gardai want to talk to anyone who saw anything of a suspicious nature on the road between Donamon Castle and Cattigans Pub on Monday morning of this week between 7.30 am and 9.30 am. Information in confidence to Roscommon Gardai on 090-6638300.   Gardai mounted a big operation in the wake of this latest incident and several checkpoints were put in place in the local area on Monday and searches of a local wooded area were also carried out. At the time of going to press there had been no arrests in connection with the incident.
