Ten months on…where is Mental Health Report?

There’s still no sign of the long-awaited report into Mental Health services in Roscommon – much to the frustration of all interested parties.

A Fine Gael Senator has now called on her party colleague – the Minister responsible – to fast-track issuing of the report.

Senator Maura Hopkins says she has “made it clear” to Minister Helen McEntee that “the external review of Mental Health services in Roscommon must be made available as quickly as possible.

Senator Hopkins added: “I do expect this review to identify weaknesses in the services within the county and to recommend improvements that will benefit people who need mental health support. It is essential that resources are allocated to areas where weaknesses and challenges have been identified.”

Independent TD Michael Fitzmaurice raised the delay in the Dail recently, pointing out that “the report into Mental Health services in the county is now ten months’ overdue.” He wants an immediate update from Minister McEntee.
