‘A Brief Taste of Lightning’ observes a moment in the lives of Gath and Gertie, a couple living together in their own quiet corner of modernity. It opens on a quiet Sunday morning and begins its bizarre and humorous descent into disaster when Gath reading the newspaper stumbles across a disturbing piece of news. The play begins with a marriage ceremony and several funerals and amongst the often hilarious stories are tales of sibling rivalry and memories of how the couple once loved each other.
