Roscommon Credit Union is urging the local community to take the ‘walk of life’ for a national annual art competition.
The ‘Walk of Life’ invites entrants to think about how society and communities change, grow and develop f2or the better.
Irish communities have made many positive changes in recent years to ensure Ireland is a more inclusive and diverse place.
Participants are encouraged to draw inspiration from the positive changes they might have witnessed in their own communities or in society.
Alternatively, they may want to depict the positive changes they have gone through themselves as individuals.
There is no age limit and entries are open to children aged seven years and under right through to 18 years and over. A category for those with physical or intellectual difficulties is also provided.
Producing and creating art can have many benefits for adults, such as reducing stress and help their problem-solving skills.
Children can nurture their motor skills and neural development, while allowing them to express their emotions.
Winners, runners-up and merit award-winners at local level will represent the credit union at regional level. From there, winning artworks will go forward to national level for an award ceremony to be held in February 2020.
All national winners’ artworks will be included in the Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU) calendar.
Locally, entry forms are available from the credit union’s three branch offices: Roscommon, Elphin and Strokestown.
The closing date to submit finished entries to Roscommon Credit Union Limited is Friday, October 11th.
Participants can also request to receive an entry form by post – simply call our Roscommon office on 090-6626657. To learn more, please visit www.roscommoncreditunion.ie
