Roscommon Co. Camogie Board are organising a Table Quiz on Friday 9th May to raise much-needed funds for the running of the various competitions and teams. This will take place at 9 pm in Doorlys, Goff St., Roscommon. Cllr. Paddy Kilduff, Knockcroghery & Lecarrow has very generously sponsored the prizes and gratitude is extended to him. Every club and county player is asked to support this extremely important cause as without a main sponsor the board is relying on voluntary initiatives like this to generate income. All clubs within the county are asked to contact Maeve Healy (Oran) if they are interested in sending interested bodies forward to be a trained as referees. Roscommon Board will be hosting a referees course over the coming weeks and names are requested asap. Congratulations are extended to Four Roads’ U14 player Lorna Dowd who recently represented Roscommon at the launch of the Coillte Development Squads at the National Botanic Gardens in Dublin. The County U-14 Camogie Finals are down for decision this weekend in Four Roads at 11 am and 12.30 pm respectively. As of yet only 2 teams are known, Padraig Pearses are through to the A Final and St. Dominics to the B Final. Full report on these games hopefully to appear in next week’s edition.
