Gardaí attached to the Roscommon/Longford Drugs Unit discovered a suspected cannabis grow house and seized more than €31,000 worth of suspected cannabis plants and herb following the search of a house in Knockcroghery last Saturday night.
A search of a property was carried out shortly before 5 pm and during the course of this search a quantity of cannabis plants valued at approximately €27,700 and a quantity of cannabis herb valued at €3,400 (pending analysis) were seized.
A man in his mid-20s was arrested at the scene and brought to Castlerea Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
He has since been released without charge and a file is to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
