Kevin and Bryan O’Gara of Peddler Mac’s live music venue in Athlone have organised an exciting musical fundraiser which will be held this Sunday evening.

While Peddler Mac’s – like all other pubs – is closed at the moment due to the Covid-19 restrictions, Kevin and Bryan wanted to support the South Westmeath Hospice and also organise a fun concert to lift people’s spirits.

The Live music concert will be hosted on Peddler Mac’s Facebook page this Sunday, 31st of May, and will feature a number of top artists, including the internationally renowned Sharon Shannon! The concert, in aid of South Westmeath Hospice, will also feature some of the finest local musical acts.

The line-up (all of whom have kindly volunteered to participate) is as follows – 5-6 pm: The Henshaws & Sharon Shannon; 6-7 pm: Keith & Liam Flynn; 7-8 pm:

No Refrets; 8-9 pm: David Hughes.

So, pour the tea, shake yourself a cocktail – or pour yourself a nice pint of plain and pretend you’re back in Peddler Mac’s – but most importantly, please donate what you can to this worthy cause. See South Westmeath Hospice Fundraiser on the GoFundMe website.

About South

Westmeath Hospice

The palliative care team aims to provide an open, honest and friendly atmosphere in which to offer physical, emotional, spiritual and social care. Their objective is to promote a feeling of ease amongst cancer and non-malignant patients and their families. Considerable funding is required annually to continue to provide services to patients and families in Athlone and the South Westmeath and Roscommon areas. These services are provided free of charge, for as long as they are needed. Whether large or small, each donation makes a difference. Thank you.
