Success for local towns and villages in this year’s TidyTowns awards

The village of Keadue was awarded first place in Co. Roscommon and won their 13th gold medal in Category A at this year’s SuperValu TidyTowns awards which took place in Croke Park in Dublin recently.

Castlecoote came second in the county and won a silver medal, while Ballintubber came third in the county and won a bronze medal. Cloontuskert also won a Category A bronze medal.

Tarmonbarry won a bronze medal in Category C and Roscommon Town took home the gold medal in Category E.

Each category is based on the population size of each town or village.

Boyle Tidy Towns also came second in a special ‘Town Centre First’ award and received €1,500.

Abbeyleix in Co. Laois was named Ireland’s Tidiest Town and Overall winner of Ireland’s Tidiest Small Town.
