Submissions are now being invited for solo exhibitions in Mantua Art Studio. Mantua is located approximately five miles south of Elphin and the art studio has been operating since 2005 and in that time has exhibited the work of 150 national and international arts. Artists exhibit at the gallery space or at the project’s annual event ‘The State of Mantua Music and Arts Festival.’ The space for exhibiting work is divided into two rooms, the project is located in a 200 year old house so the space is not custom built but lends itself well to exhibiting and studio spaces. Each space is approximately 5m x 5m and 2.5m tall. Artists who exhibit saleable work will be charged a commission price of 15 percent of work sold. The centre advertises locally and because it is located in a rural community, stresses the importance of involving the local community. Artists are welcome to respond to the area, the building and the residents. but it is not essential. To apply for a solo exhibition, submit an up to date CV, an artist’s statement, a description of the work you would like to show and up to 10 images of your previous work or work your are proposing to show if it is ready. For those interested in curating workshops or events, submit a relevant CV and proposal, describing event and images or ideas of work. Depending on the type of event, workshop or exhibition, further details can be discussed after proposals are received. The space will be open to view in the new year.
