Féile Strokestown will take place next weekend with a jam-packed programme of events across three days.
The festival will officially open on Friday, October 6th at 8 pm and this will be followed by Sean Keane and his band in concert.
Fergus McGorman will be launching his new CD and there will be a Sessions Trail right around the town.
Saturday (7th) sees a series of workshops taking place in Scoil Mhuire from 10 am to 1 pm including: Fiddle with Aidan Connolly, Flute with Orlaith McAuliffe, Concertina with Liam O’Brien, Piano Accompaniment with Dr. Geraldine Cotter and Guitar Accompaniment with Shane McGowan.
There will also be a Flute Forum in Percy French at 2 pm as well as CD launches at 4 pm ahead of a tribute concert to the late Frank Kelly at 8 pm.
The Festival Mass will open Sunday’s events which will include Songs and Stories of Percy French at The Percy French Hotel at 12 pm and a Céilí with the Tulla Céilí Band at 3 pm. The Session Trail will continue throughout the day at venues throughout the town.
