Strokestown hosts 10th annual Easter Parade on Sunday

Huge crowds are expected in Strokestown on Sunday next for the Annual Easter Parade which starts at 3 pm. This year is the tenth anniversary of the parade which has gone from strength to strength every year.    In addition to the usual commercial, community and sporting floats there will be a prize for the best Easter window in the town.    There will also be a prize for the best vintage car and lorry. Assembly will take place for the smaller floats at the Boreen Road at 2.30 pm while the heavier traffic will assemble at Elphin Street.    The route will be Boreen Road, Elphin Street, Bridge Street and the Longford Road as far as the Scania Garage, then back to The Square.    The Parade is run by the Strokestown Development Association and further details can be obtained by dialling 071-33060 or 086-8975006.
