Strokestown Easter Parade makes a welcome return!

The Strokestown Easter Parade is set to make a welcome return following a two-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Strokestown Community Development Association will once again host the popular event, which commences at 3 pm on Easter Sunday (April 17th).

All are welcome to take part with floats (at the discretion of the committee).

A spokesperson for Strokestown Community Development Association told Roscommon People that there has already been great interest in this year’s parade.

“We already have great interest in the event and we are encouraging voluntary participation from all community groups, including lots of fancy dress.

“This year we will not be charging any entry fee but we would encourage people to support our Card Draw. Cards are available from all local shops and will be on sale on the day as well. We are also indebted to local businesses for their great generosity”.

There will be plenty of street entertainment on offer on Easter Sunday in Strokestown as well as music in local pubs. The organisers have encouraged all local businesses and those involved in agricultural business to take part on the day.

“All individuals or groups who wish to enter the parade should contact 087-1668775 or 086-1385721 or drop your details in to Strokestown Community Development Association.

“The association wishes to thank Roscommon County Council and particularly Tourism Officer Eimear Dowd for her assistance to date,” the spokesperson concluded.
