Strokestown are back in the county final after this thrilling two point win against Clann na nGael in Knockcroghery. Strokestown were the better side in the opening half and goals from Aisling McAuliffe, Niamh McHugh and Elanor Hanley saw them lead by 3-4 to 0-4 at half-time.

  Clann started their comeback on the resumption but were rocked back on their heels when Elanor Hanley scored her second and Strokestown’s fourth goal in the 35th minute.

  Sinead Farrell then converted a penalty for Clann and when Michelle Reynolds scored another goal Clann were back in business.

  Then Ruth Finlass scored a vital third goal and Clann were level in time added on. But late points from Niamh McHugh saw Strokestown edge to a narrow win.

Kilbride remain on course for another county title after this easy win against Shannon Gaels. Niamh Shanagher and Fiona Tully scored first half goals and the champions led by 2-6 to 0-4 at half-time.

  Sinead Clabby grabbed their third goal midway through the second half as they continued to dominate.

  Shannon Gaels never gave up but they were restricted to a Sorcha Bruen goal early in the second half as Kilbride set up a final meeting between themselves and neighbours Strokestown.
