Stars align for Frankie’s book launch!

There was a strong turnout of Gaelic football stars past and present on Saturday last at St. Brigid’s GAA Club in Kiltoom as former Roscommon and St. Brigid’s forward, Frankie Dolan, launched his autobiography, ‘Outside of the Right’, which was written in conjunction with Roscommon People journalist Dan Dooner.

The book was officially launched by special guest and former All-Ireland winning manager with Galway, John O’Mahony, the man in charge of St. Brigid’s for Dolan’s first Roscommon county title win in 1997.

Those in attendance also heard from St. Brigid’s Chairman Michael McDonnell and Roscommon GAA Chairman Brian Carroll.

Dolan shared a few lighthearted anecdotes with a star-studded audience before paying an emotional tribute to former Roscommon teammates Ger Michael Grogan and Conor Connelly, who passed away in 2002 and 2020 respectively.

MC John Lynch then hosted a quick-fire Q and A with the 2013 All-Ireland Club winner, who shared anecdotes from his playing days with Roscommon and St. Brigid’s.

The book, published by Hero Books and distributed by Roscommon company PK Supplies (087-2745441) is on sale now at Eason, online at Amazon and in ETL, Newsround and Casey’s in Roscommon town, priced at €20.
