A total of 12 ‘A’ swimmers from Comans Swimming Club took part in Longford’s inaugural Gala recently where an impressive line-up of swimmers from all over Connacht christened this new pool in spectacular fashion. All swimmers performed well on the day, achieving P.B.’s and making the finals. Finalists on the day included Helen Keane, Joseph Geoghegan, Sarah Kelly and Leah Feane with Helen taking bronze in the U-16, Sarah Kelly achieving Div. 2 in backstroke but the performance of the day by Comans Club went to 11-year-old Leah Feane who won Gold in the 110 Fly in a nail-biting final. This caps off a fantastic month for Leah, a month in which saw her win Club Swimmer of the Month and qualify for the National School Finals in the NAC in Dublin.
