St. Aloysius aim for All-Ireland final place

All-Ireland Colleges SF ‘C’ semi-final St. Aloysius, Athlone v Scoil Pobal, Kenmare  (on Saturday at 2.30 pm, venue Croagh, Co. Limerick)  Connacht SF ‘C’ champions St. Aloysius College, Athlone face a tough game when they take on the Munster champions Scoil Pobal, Kenmare in the All-Ireland semi-final on Saturday next.   Fielding several Roscommon players, Aloysius scored an excellent win in the Connacht final two weeks ago and they will be hoping to get to the All-Ireland final on Saturday.    Willie Hegarty is the Aloysius team manager and he spoke to The Roscommon People yesterday (Wednesday).    ‘The pitch where we were originally due to play is unavailable. We have just heard that the game is fixed for Croagh in Co. Limerick. We have done very well this year so far and we are unbeaten in five championship games and we were delighted to win the Connacht final two weeks ago. We still have not conceded a goal, which is good.    ‘Kenmare will be a very good side and they have in their ranks Timmy O’Sullivan who is on the Kerry minor team this year and is an excellent player. We will have to watch him closely. We will certainly be giving it everything’ concluded Willie.
