Sports grants for Roscommon groups



Senator Maura Hopkins said she was “delighted” to receive confirmation from Minister Brendan Griffin on Monday that the following Roscommon groups have been successful in their applications for equipment under the Sports Capital Grants Programme: Lough Ree Lanesborough Angling Hub – Lough Ree ‘Access for All’ lake fishing boat €38,589; Rahara Rovers FC – mower, defibrillator, jerseys, balls, and nets €7,882; Loughglynn Boxing Club – equipment worth €5,536; Cloonfad United FC – mower, goalposts and ball stop net worth €6,099; Roscommon Golf Club – course maintenance equipment worth €19,139; Castlerea Golf Club – golf course maintenance equipment worth €32,987; Strokestown Golf Club – machinery for course maintenance worth €46,285; Lough Key Triathlon Club – safety & administration equipment improvements worth €1,392; Co. Roscommon Disability Support Group Ltd. – purchase of bowls equipment worth €637.

  Senator Hopkins said: “Clubs which were not successful will be able to appeal the decision. Approximately 1,500 further non equipment only applications are still being processed and will be allocated in September”.
