Special U14 football development squad training session On this Thursday evening, August 2 nd a special coaching session in Kilbride GAA pitch will take place for the Roscommon U14 football development squad in preparation for two matches against Laois this weekend. It is important that all players attend. A meeting of all coaches and co-ordinators involved with the U14 football squad from the four regions will take place as well in Kilbride.   Final week of Roscommon GAA VHI Cul Camps   The Roscommon GAA VHI Cul Camps programme is in its final week and camps started on Monday in Ballinlough (football), and a dual football and hurling camp continues in Monksland until Friday August 3 rd from 10 am to 2.30 pm.  VHI Cul Camps numbers for first four weeks of camps We have held four weeks of camps so far and despite the poor weather the numbers attending our football and hurling camps have being excellent and they are as follows: Dr. Hyde – football (168), Abbey Park, Boyle (83), St. Dominic’s – hurling (78), Dr. Hyde Park – football (171), Elphin – football (106), Four Roads – hurling (71), Padraig Pearses – football (115), Tarmonbarry – football (89), Dr. Hyde Park – hurling (105), Castlerea – football (81) and Padraig Pearses – hurling (46). We thank the venues who have allowed us hold the camps along with Roscommon Community College who allowed us to use their facilities at short notice during the first week. We hope all the kids attending our camps enjoyed themselves with the new GAA kits going down very well.  U14 football development squad game against Laois It is hoped to play Laois U14 football development in two games before the All-Ireland minor quarter-final this weekend. Once a venue is confirmed our regional co-ordinators will contact all players on the squad with the final details and players will be told on this Thursday evening after a coaching session in Kilbride GAA pitch.   Best of luck to our minor football team this weekend The Roscommon coaching and games development committee would like to wish our minor team, management and officials the very best of luck in the All-Ireland minor quarter-final against Laois this weekend in what is another huge game for the county. U14 ladies in All-Ireland football final It’s a big weekend for the Roscommon ladies U14 football team as they play Wicklow in the All-Ireland B football final. After a great win over Tipperary in the semi-final hopes are high of going all the way.  Best of luck to players and management in the final. U14-15 hurling development coaching in Athleague Just a reminder to all under U14-15 players that our development squad hurling coaching session will take place in Athleague on this Saturday morning at 10 am sharp. To date the turn out of players has being very positive. U15 football development squad training in Kilbride Roscommon Coaching and games development have picked a squad of 40 players and training continues for all players on next Tuesday week, August 14th in Kilbride at 7 pm sharp.  Players must bring their own water and fruit to training at all times. The response from the players has being brilliant to date.
