Something for everyone at Roscommon VEC night classes

Do you want to make a fresh start with those new year resolutions? Why not try a class with  County Roscommon VEC. We offer a wide range of night classes at various centres throughout the County in areas such as Computers, Childcare, Art & Crafts, Health and Wellbeing and as usual we like to offer ‘Something New and Different’ Our courses are interesting and good value for money. Classes generally run one night per week over a seven week period and commence at 8.00pm unless otherwise stated.  Enrolment for all classes is on the first night and no pre-bookings are taken.   See our advertisement in this paper for further details. COMPUTERS Computer courses range from basic introductory courses to the ECDL and advanced Word ECDL. If you were lucky enough to have got a  computer or laptop for Christmas why not learn to use it. Our introduction to internet and e-mail class could open up a whole new world of communication and the ability to access information on the World Wide Web.  Alternatively our Computerised Accounts (Tas) or Payroll (Manual & Computerised) could make life much easier for you, and leave you with more time for yourself.  Classes are available in Roscommon, Castlerea, Boyle, Ballaghadereen, and Elphin CHILDCARE Our FETAC Level 5 childcare courses are ongoing in Castlerea, Roscommon and Boyle.  We are offering a Special Needs and Work Experience Modules in Boyle, Communications in Roscommon, Early Childhood Education and Caring for Children in Castlerea, and Working with Children under Three in Elphin.  All modules are FETAC Level 5 and will run one night per week over 12 weeks. In order to receive a full FETAC level 5 Major award in Childcare participants must complete 8 modules, six of which are mandatory. ART & CRAFTS There is always great interest in our art and craft classes and this year we are offering Art for Adults, Pottery and Flower Arranging and Furniture Restoration at various venues.  Many people discover a talent they were not even aware of at these classes, which opens up a whole new world of creativity and many hours of pleasure. Why not come along and see what you can do! HEALTH & WELLBEING After Christmas and the New Year, many of us are concentrating on our health and fitness.  Roscommon VEC offer a great variety of classes to choose from in this area with Yoga in Roscommon and Castlerea, Hypnosis, Life Coaching and Dream Interpretation in Castlerea and Introduction to Reflexology and Self Defence for Ladies in Boyle.  Our Style Coaching class is proving very popular with the ladies, and will be offered in Roscommon and Boyle.  We also hope our new ‘Introductory Course in Beauty Therapy will also be of interest to many.  FIRST AID We will run a basic First Aid (Adult including Paediatrics) over 2 Saturdays in Roscommon Community College, Lisnamult.  The dates are Saturday 26 January and Saturday 2 February from 9.30am to 4.00pm. Please pre book by sending cheque for €50 to the VEC.  STYLE COACHING Are you tired of the same old clothes?   Is your wardrobe full and yet you have nothing to wear? Ae you fearful of wearing colour and hide away in dark colours? Do you need a confidence boost? If you answer yes to any of the above questions then this is the class for you.  Boost your confidence and self esteem, get help with healthy eating, skin care, hair and make up and find out what colours suit you best.  Classes commence in Roscommon Community College on Wed 30 Jan at 8.00pm MUSIC A Guitar for Beginners / Improvers will run in Roscommon Community College, while in Boyle you will find Introduction and Preliminary Lessons in Traditional Fiddle NEW AND OLD  FOR  SPRING 2008  Our new classes for the Spring term include ‘A Guide to Starting Your Own Backyard Vegetable Garden – Growing, Cooking and Eating’ in Roscommon commencing Wednesday 30 January, Introductory course in Beauty Therapy in Boyle, and Personal Development / Confidence Building / Decision Making in Elphin. Regulars include Digital Photography in Roscommon and Boyle Building Energy Rating Assessor Programme HEC Boyle Commencing 25th February 2008 for 7 consecutive days until 4th March.
