During in the 1990s, Declan and Mary T Molloy invested in a new bakery premises which was built on the current site of Molloy’s Bakery at Abbeytown, Roscommon. A further investment followed in 2007 which represented a major change in direction for Molloy’s, transforming it from a traditional supermarket into a specialty bakery, fine food outlet and coffee shop.
Molloy’s Bakery and coffee shop remain open seven days a week, serving the finest and freshest in baked goods each day.
While there have been many changes down through the years in terms of production methods and the range of goods on offer, one thing that remains the same is the value the Molloy family continue to put on supplying the best quality products to our customers.
We are proud to see our hard work paying off and grateful to our loyal customers who keep coming back. Our reputation has spread nationally too, and Molloy’s Bakery has been honoured to receive a number of Great Taste Awards over the years for products such as our Oatmeal Soda, Christmas Pudding, Cantucci, and Chocolate Pudding.
A rich variety of ingredients not only makes for great food, it’s also crucial for a great team too. Here at Molloy’s Bakery, we are proud of our talented and hardworking multicultural team which features staff members from Brazil, India, Syria, Poland, Croatia, Hungary, Georgia, Moldova, South Africa, Romania, Lithuania and of course Ireland.
The Molloy’s brand has survived a number of ups and downs over ten decades. In the most recent decade, Mark Molloy became the fourth generation of Molloys to enter the business full-time. And, having recently welcomed the fifth generation of the family into the world with the arrival of Jackie-Ann’s son Oscar and Mark’s son Max, Molloy’s is surely in safe hands for the next ten decades too!
